Florida Coach Urban Meyer -whose team plays Ohio State tonight for the NCAA Division 1-A national collegiate football championship- is a very modern coach when it comes to recruiting.
Cach Meyer uses his BlackBerry to text message potential recruits.
He has been working with his staff to make the Gators hip.
Florida is expected to have up to 10 players enroll early, which is believed to be the most ever for one school. The previous year less than 60 players enrolled early at all the schools.
Coach Meyer has earned the nickname Coach Text Message from some.
According to the story Coach Meyer can't work his home entertainment center but he is a pro at text messaging.
I wonder what will be done via text next?

1. A good friend of mine is a track coach at Florida and he does an extensive amount of recruiting with his BlackBerry. One reason this is becoming in vogue is the NCAA imposes strict limits on how many times you can call a recruit on the telephone, but there aren't any limits on text messages or emails.
