This story from Wired reveals a technology that RIM is working on that might prevent would-be BlackBerry thieves.
The technology would wirelessly pair a device to its holster forcing a password prompt on the device and a notification on the holster if the two were separated.
Neat idea.

1. Well, this is already on most BlackBerries. You have two options, the password lock when it's removed from the holster and also the Bluetooth dongle so when the phone moves out if the 30 ft range, it's unuseable until it's in the hands of it's rightful owner.
