Bride checks her BlackBerry at her wedding

Flickr Member Abrilon (link to photostream below) was at his friends' Candace and Beggs wedding in Singapore recently.

Looks like a happy couple. Lots of joyous shots. Wish I could have been there myself.

But then there's this one shot that caught my eye.

There's Candice, gown and all, checking her BlackBerry.

Probably some "wish I could be there" well-wishers, email or texting.

I remember when people sent telegrams for exactly that sort of communication.

Now, there are no more Western Union telegrams. But does a BlackBerry message have the same heartfelt impact?

1. I see in the photo stream that the title of this picture is "Bride on a Blackberry", but I really don't think that's a Blackberry. Looks like a Windows Mobile phone. No Blackberry has a shape like that, and it looks like it has a card slot on the top.

Oh well!!
