On the BlackBerry section of Experts-Exchange, the #2 most-read newer document is "Any way to wireless sync with Public Folder With BES?"
"We have a centralized calendar and contact list in Exchange Public Folders and would like to wireless sync with this," writes FASTECHS. Is this possible?
Well, it sure is. Drawing on a BlackBerryForums thread devoted to the subject, 2006's top-rated Experts-Exchange BlackBerry expert garycutri offers these tips:Public Calendar Example
It is assumed you already have a Calendar in a public folder. You need to have BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed on your desktop.
1. Ensure your shared calendar has permissions to allow BlackBerry users to access
2. Open Desktop Manager
3. Select "Intellisync" and then "configure pim"
4. Select "Calendar" and click "choose"
5. click "Browse" (at the bottom) and then choose the calendar in your public folder
Public Contacts Example
It is assumed you already have a contacts list in a public folder.
1. Open desktop manager
2. Select "IntelliSync" and then "configure pim"
3. Select address book and click choose.
4. click "Browse" (at the bottom) and "add", then choose contacts in your public folder
Public Notes Example
It is assumed you already have a Notes Folder in a public folder.
1. Ensure your shared notes has permissions to allow BlackBerry users to access
2. Open Desktop Manager
3. Select "Intellisync" and then "configure pim"
4. Select "MemoPad" and click "choose"
5. click "Browse" (at the bottom) and then choose the notes item in your public folder.
That should cover it.

1. Hello Russell. Are you sure this method enables BES Wireless Sync with an Exchange Public Folder? Seems to me that removing the Blackberry Wireless Sync option in Desktop Manager to select an Exchange Public Folder would move the sync function to the local computer. Thanks, Rob Kleinpeter
