CBS News does not charge any fees for the messages, but if you do not have a message bundle included from your carrier you might get a per message charge.
It is very easy to register. Just fill out the form, click the button. You will then be asked for your BlackBerry phone number. CBS sends you a PIN you have to enter on the page to verify you have the phone and you are signed up for Breaking News alerts.
You can also sign up for email alerts as well for those of us who love to get news emailed to us.
