BlackBerry Desktop Not Working In Vista

While we are waiting for a new Blackberry and new OS for the BlackBerry, a new windows is supposed to be on the horizon in 2007. Windows Vista is out in testing now.

According to an article in ARNnet the BlackBerry Desktop software is one of the programs that does not work with Vista. The article talks about a company that will help a business see what they need to do to use Vista.

Let's hope RIM and Microsoft get their issues ironed out. If not we BlackBerry owners will be stuck with Windows XP.

1. Oh, for the love of pete! Just order my new Vista Premium ready computer and am waiting for the BB 8800 and now the two won't work together? What kind of nonsense is that? Who can I pound on the head for that? I fiinally decided to give up my Pocket PC and switch to the BB! Thanks for the info, Imagine how craqzed I would be to find that two newly purchased toys don't play well together. You have saved me money and frustration with your news!

2. Aura Mae take your plan one step further after dumping the pocket pc you should/still might want to dump the pc with windoz and order a Apple Mac. IAA makes a darn good OSX to BB interface program, and the Mac can now also run windoz nothing but a win win. Your BB smartphone is the best available, as your Mac computer is the best available.

3. This report is not true, It works without a problem in Windows Vista RC 1.

4. Version 4.2 of desktop software work perfectly under Vista RC1 and RC2 5744

5. 4.2 does not work for me running RC2 5744 or 4.1 or 4.0

6. I have just installed Vista Ultimate 6000, because we get the Volume Licence this is the full retail release, i have just installed BB 4.2 and they work together JUST.. for some reason my BB power's off and i have to remove the battery to get the thing powered on successfully!!
