According to a poll now underway on BlackBerryForums, some 60 percent of respondents thus far say they will definitely get the BlackBerry 8800.
Although I detect a strong groundswell of interest in the forthcoming line (one of which will include a QWERTY "cameraberry"), you have to remember something about this poll.
Because this poll is highlighted as a thread within the BlackBerry 8800 section of BlackBerry Forums, it stands to reason that even just going to that section would serve as an indication of interest in the 8800.
To put it another way- if you don't care about the 8800, the odds that you will spend a significant amount of time in that section of BBF- not to mention voting- has to be somewhat less.
Still, the poll results do indicate some interest

1. Seeing as the 8800 is a radical departure from all previous Blackberries (except the Pearl) as a result of the trackwheel having been deleted in favor of the trackball, how can we know how people will react? I mean, I'm guessing that much of the Blackberry success has been as a result of its familiar trackwheel. What do people say who have switched to the Pearl, and have tried to use it while driving? Perhaps it's ok, but what are users actually experiencing? Any car accidents :)
