Now here's something that's cool- voice-recognition based BlackBerry dialing- for more than just the Pearl (where voice recog is built-in).
Update: Clarification from a VoiceSignal representative:
The embedded voice dialing application that is on the Pearl is from VoiceSignal.
Although we do have versions of VSuite with slightly additional functionality that are downloadable, they are for other devices, not for the Pearl. We at VoiceSignal are not selling VSuite for the BlackBerry Pearl through aftermarket channels. The only way a user can currently get VSuite on a RIM device is by buying a Pearl and using the embedded software.
We do sell aftermarket software for other smartphones, so that's where the confusion may come from.
This is accmplished via VoiceSignal's VSuite Pearl-compatible utility.
No pain in the ..."training," as in standard voice recognition packages.
With this $19.99 utility you get:
- "Smart Dialing" of Company Extensions: Users can call the corporate desk phone of their co-workers by simply speaking the words "call extension" followed by the extension number. The BlackBerry Pearl will dial the preset main line, pause momentarily upon connecting to the switchboard, and then automatically dial the extension number.
- Automatic Updates of New Contacts: Whether through the Pearl or your contact management software, new contacts are dded to the BlackBerry Address Book, The additions automatically make these contacts available for voice-activated dialing.
- Identical Names Handling: Two identical names in your addy book? You'll get a prompt as to which one you want your Pearl to dial.

1. I'm confused, my Vodafone Pearl came with this as standard???
