A new Pinstack thread entitled "Video Crashing 8100" has been gathering posts and page views since it went up earlier today.
The thread was started by Pinstacker N8DBB.
I should point out that N8DBB is no newbie. He has nearly 2,500 Pinstack posts, which classifies him as a "Stack Pro."
"Media player keeps not responding after about 2 1/2 minutes and device locks up," he writes of his attempts to play video on his newly purchased T-Mobile BlackBerry Pearl 8100. "Screen gets messed up and have to do a battery pull."
N8DBB then follows up with a post listing this Uncaught Exception:
"Application net_rim_bb_file_explorer (118) is not responding, process terminated," he reports. "Happens anywhere between 90-120 seconds into a video.:
Another attempt: same prob.
So guess what N8DBB decided to do.
Give up on the Pearl, that's what.
"As of right now, I am formally no longer supporting or recommending the 8100 Pearl Blackberry Device," he writes, noting that he is getting ready to go to T-Mobile and get a replacement.
"It is possible that this is an error with just this device, but this will soon be confirmed or denied," he adds. "So until I get back with a new device and test it, I am officially saying that I do not recommend this device."

1. Like I have been saying all along RIM messed up with this device and rushed this out the door. It is the most unstable OS RIM has released. Period.
