1. I have been putting this device thru its paces for about a week. I have several 3rd party apps loaded: NewsClip, MetaMessage, etc. I have not experienced any major issues with the OS. There have been one or two occasions when the device bogged down for a few seconds but it in each case it quickly recovered. I have also experienced a few calls with poor call quality… not sure if I can blame RIM or T-Mobile. On a side note, I am very disappointed that it didn’t come with a case or holster. Also, battery life appears to be significantly less than that of the 8700.

2. I agree with the post by davidson, although I have had a pretty flawless experience, aside from the OZ messenger not loading but after you restart the device it works like magic. Aside from that no other hiccups to mention, its a very awesome phone to say the least, I love it.

3. I find it ironic that Boy Genius is stating that hes been saying all along that the Pearl is the most unstable OS RIM has released when he was the one hyping this phone in the first place. As I recall, on one of the many threads on blackberryforums about the pearl in anticipation to its release where Boy Genius stated that this blackberry (Pearl) is going to be the best blackberry realeased to date.

4. I just got the pearl and am a new customer to Tmo because of it. here is what i know so far. the device feels and looks amazing. the trackball has its good times and bad times. people are complaining because of the trackball interupting the ringer but what hasn't been said is that the trackwheel did (does) the same thing only it's easier to do the interruption with the trackball. The OS (4.2) is SOOOOOO slow!!!! this is compared to the 8700c which has an actual 300 some odd MHz processor SO the pearl will obviously seem more laggish if you're switching. Tmo service i'm not too pleased with. they have more higher frequency areas but less coverage. i seemed to always have a connection to a tower with cingular but have had patchy service with Tmo. i live in shreveport louisiana currently. also with cingular i always had edge connectivity. with Tmo its only in select cities. whats up with that? its 2007 almost!!! lol overall a great product that doesnt feel RUSHED persay more like not finished. it needs a service update and quick or this will easily slip into a big boo boo by RIM.
