Boy Genius has just sent me a comment on revelations that there may be some video playback issues with the T-Mobile BlackBerry Pearl 8100.
He doesn't sound surprised in the slightest.
"Like I have been saying all along RIM messed up with this device and rushed this out the door," he writes. " It is the most unstable OS RIM has released. Period."
Readers- especially those of you who have purchased the Pearl- what do you think? Did Research In Motion rush this device to market? Is the operating sytstem unstable?

1. I have been putting this device thru its paces for about a week. I have several 3rd party apps loaded: NewsClip, MetaMessage, etc. I have not experienced any major issues with the OS. There have been one or two occasions when the device bogged down for a few seconds but it in each case it quickly recovered. I have also experienced a few calls with poor call quality… not sure if I can blame RIM or T-Mobile. On a side note, I am very disappointed that it didn’t come with a case or holster. Also, battery life appears to be significantly less than that of the 8700.
