This morning, participants in the CanWest MediaWorks VideoPlayer for BlackBerry beta received emails confirming that as the beta ends, CanWest is preparing to unveil a "new commercial product called bbTV."
Compatible with BlackBerry 8700 and 7130 series devices, the new service will allow users to select daily updated news coverage with their choice of 30, 60 and 90 second TV clips of International, Canadian, Finance and Sports news.
The letter to beta testers (I've been one) also noted that the content would feature an archive function to enable users to access and download broadcast clips from the preceding week.
