Google provides real-time traffic information for BlackBerry users

Google says it has begun to offer "live" traffic data to mobile phone users in more than 30 major U.S. cities.

An extension of Google Maps for Mobile, the BlackBerry-compliant service works by users choosing a destination within Google Maps and then selecting "show traffic."

Once you elect that option, highway traffic information will be sent to your BlackBerry. This is color-coded data tied to road conditions: red for congested, yellow or orange for slow conditions, and green for, well full speed ahead (but be sure to observe speed limits).

The service can be found on BlackBerry browsers at http://google.com/gmm.
