Dominique Wilkins, who was known as the "Human Highlight Film" when he was pulling off a steady series of miraculous dunks for the Atlanta Hawks,will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame this September.

He's still active taking the ball to "the hole," but nowadays, the ball and hole are on the golf course.

Active in civic projects, 'Nique's BlackBerry is always on his hip. As a matter of fact, I drew an arrow to it on that photo at the top of this post.

But if you aren't sure it is a BlackBerry, check with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Michelle Hiskey, whose profile on the 46-year-old-Wilkins runs today.

While Hiskey was following Wilkins around the course to gather vignettes for her piece, he was able to, as Hiskey writes, bomb "one drive despite the cord to his earbud dangling across his chest."

"I hung up (my BlackBerry) before I hit," he confesses.

When I wrote about sports as a USAToday freelancer, I used to cover NBA basketball games where Dominique Wilkins used to drive to the hole.

Now he hits drives to the hole.
