Interesting tidbit: although the Vodafone BlackBerry 8707v has not been officially announced yet, there's a support document about the device posted on the BlackBerry site.
The short, one-paragraph document is entitled: 8707v does not support BlackBerry services when used for dial-up networking.
This document notes the article applies to the BlackBerry 8707v Wireless Handheld as well as the Vodafone UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) network.
"The BlackBerry 8707v can be used as an external modem to connect a laptop computer to the Internet," notes the article. "When providing a dial-up network connection, the BlackBerry handheld cannot support other BlackBerry services (for example, email reconciliation or calendar synchronization)."
