Marketwatch.com reports today that Cingular spokesman John Kampfe says the BlackBerry 8700c will start selling at its U.S. stores and at consumer electronics retailer Best Buy starting Friday.

That, of course,is the start of the traditional gift-giving season.

It was originally slated for release Nov. 21, but "minor modifications" delayed the start date, Kampfe said, without offering any specifics.

And hey, guess what else

1. Will Verizon get a version of this phone? I do not like the new Blackberry form Verizon just added.

2. I received my 8700c from Cingular via FedEx today (11/23/05). It is great! I only have a few complaints: 1. My holster has defect that prevents it from putting the device into "sleep mode" so my holster settings on each of my profiles do not work. 2. The keys are much smaller than the 7200 models 3. You can not upload 7200 back0up files for profiles, saved messages (purged) or bluetooth options from 7200. If anyone has solved for these bugs, please let me know. Otherwise, the device is 10 times better than the 7200 series. The browser is very fast, the resolution and graphics are awesome and there are several enhancements.

5. My wife just bought me a 8700c for Christmas. This unit is awesome. Excellent phone quality and everything else. It is compatible with Microsoft outlook. Great item.
