A recent Internal Revenue Service rule requiring insertion of various regulatory disclaimers into corporate correspondence has sparked an upgrade in METAmessage-Legal. The Onset Technologies solution is an enterprise access software suite for law firms that already use BlackBerry. The new rules are part of recent revisions to IRS Circular 230, which dictates in part that disclaimers in legal and financial documents must be independent of any footer. For that reason, appending text at the SMTP gateway - rather than through the solution itself as the new MetaMessage Legal upgrade offers- is likely to be far more time consuming.
The upgrade also offers enhanced time-and-billing updating
capabilities, a legal dictionary for spell-checking, billing updates for phone llogs, and forms-based access to the FindLaw case database.
