Hey, I am the first to admit I don't know much about wine. But I do know I like to drink the stuff, and sometimes, I run up large bills practicing that art.

Still, my lack of expertise in the what-wine-goes-well-with subject area has caused me some gastronomic and social embarrassments (as if I need more of those). And, I just know that although I have treated my palate to many a pricey, sumptuous main course in my time, the wrong wine I ordered caused a sensuous dish to be merely tasty.

That's gotta stop, people. Which is why I'm interested in Sommelier, a wine and food advisor for BlackBerry. You select your food type, and Sommelier makes a wine recommendation.

Sommelier costs only $5.99, but it is marked down to $5.39 for Handango.com Club Handango members. So, for just over five bucks, you get a wine counselor at a tab far less than the cost of the first bottle of compatible wine type it recommends.

That's what I call a return on investment.
