The members of Yahoo! Finance's Message Boards can be a contentious and skeptical lot. Not all that many weeks ago, the dominant sentiment on the Research In Motion (RIMM) section of this board was heavily tilting to "Strong Sell."
I don't know whether the three-million-subs news of the last few days or whether the realization that a host of potential competitive threats are not as ominous as they've seemed have changed the tone over there, but something is working.
In fact, I did an informal count of the specific "recommendation" posts put up on the RIMM board between 6 p.m. and Midnight Eastern Time last night.
Lo and behold, I counted:
Strong Buy- 23
Sell - 3
Strong Sell - 2
