Internet developer and consultant Josh Hallett may live in the Disney-designed town of Celebration, Florida. Yet despite his residence, Josh has little to celebrate about these days. For Josh, his last two BlackBerrys were less reliable than one of those old Mickey Mouse watches. He's mourning the passing of his BlackBerry 7290, a mere four months after purchase. The Cingular-supplied unit stopped sending and receiving data. Not a good thing.
Hallett's 7290 was itself a replacement for his BlackBerry 7280, which "stopped sending any voice" a mere 32 days after activation.
Today, he's headed to the Cingular store for a replacement. Hopefully, the third time will be the charm.

1. I had two 7290s crap out on me in less than 28 days. The first had backlight issues out of the box and the second stopped emitting a ringer notification when calls or messages came in. Cingular didn't help at the store level with the second replacement at all -- they SUCK!
